Kids age 10-12. Turtle is called "Turtle" because she has a very hard shell. She doesn't like kids; no child is ever nice to the housekeeper's kid. And that's what she is. The housekeeper's kid. Since her mothers new job doesn't allow children, she is sent to Key West where her her mom grew up, and where her aunt lives now. When she arrives, she finds out that her Aunt Minnie had no idea that she was coming. She meets her cousins for the first time, but has a funny time getting accustomed to life in Key West. Join Turtle, Beans, Pork Chop, and all kinds of funny people with funny names, in their adventures throughout the summer. Very funny. Jennifer Holm has a great sense of humor! Both boys and girls will enjoy this book immensely.
