Maniac Magee is an orphan. His parents died in a trolley accident. He is the fastest runner ever, and he runs around looking for a home. What he doesn't realize, is that no home is perfect. He is oblivious to anything that people do to show that they don't like him. When he finally figures it out, he thinks that the problem is his. Oh, and he is allergic to pizza. Who ever heard of such a strange kid??? That's Maniac Magee for you. In the beginning, this book is a little bit weird. Soon it gets better. I love this book. Maniac Magee is so funny, with all of his quirks. Good for boys and girls, though boys tend to like it a little bit more.

I liked this book a lot. Jerry Spinelli is a great author! I definitely recommend his other works, too.
