#7 The Million Dollar Throw by Mike Lupica

This was the first book that I ever read of Mike Lupica's, and it was the same as "Miracle on 49th Street", I thought about it for months and months after. Recommended for kids age 10-13.  This book is very moving. Nate Brodie, nicknamed Brady because of his quarterback arm, and also because he is Tom Brady's biggest fan, has been saving up forever to buy a special football, autographed by Tom Brady. Finally he gets enough money for it. While purchasing the football, he enters a contest. He wins the chance to try and throw a football through a target on Thanksgiving night, and win a million dollars. Meanwhile, he has a lot of problems. His dad lost his job, and they could lose their house. His best friend, Abby, is going blind. Will he be able to make it? And even if he does, what will happen to Abby? Geared towards boys, but girls will love it too.
