#2 Miracle on 49th Street by Mike Lupica
Recommended for ages 10-13. Mike Lupica is an incredible author. In this amazingly gripping story, Molly Parker, an orphan, has lived with Barbara Evans, her mother's best friend, since her mom's death. She finally decides to contact her mom's old college boyfriend. He just happens to be the biggest basketball star ever, Josh Cameron. Besides wanting to let him know about the sad news, she has a secret to tell him. The way he responds to it could change both of their lives. This is a sad, but unbelievably grasping tale. Have you ever read a book that months later you are still thinking about? Thats what this book did for me.This is a great book for both girls and boys. It would probably be one of the best books that I have ever read.
